At the start of the November 4 sitting of Parliament, the MPs observed a moment of silence in memory of plastic artist Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, who died on November 1, IPN reports.

“On November 1, 2021, renowned painter Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu died and November 5 was declared a national day of mourning. I ask you to observe a moment of silence,” said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

In accordance with the presidential decree to declare a national day of mourning, the national flag on November 5 will be flown at half-mast all over Moldova. At midday, Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu will be honored by a moment of silence. The funeral will be broadcast live by the public broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova”.

The artist passed away at the age of 101.
