MPs launch call for cooperation and respect, accuse each other

In the first sitting of the autumn-winter parliamentary session, the lawmakers urged each other to be respectful and cooperative. The leaders of the parliamentary groups stressed the necessity of adopting laws important for the people, but did not hesitate to make accusations. Maria Postoico, the leader of the Communist parliamentary group, said the disorder witnessed the previous session should not repeat. “We are rivals in the political battle, but there must be limits and respect. Any bill must be examined without delay because all of them are for the people’s benefit. The Communist group calls on all the MPs to cooperate. We are ready to accept any initiative and bill that is for the people,” Maria Postoico said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. She also said that the lawmakers this session should seriously work on the budgetary-fiscal policy. The state budget must be amended and the date of presidential elections set. She suggested that the central bank governor should present a report on the raider attack on banks, while the minister of the interior - a report on the crime situation. She said reports should be also rendered by the minister of defense and the head of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime. The head of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet said the Lib-Dems will put forward new initiatives to improve activity in the most important areas. “If we do not advance, we risk losing the people’s trust. We call on the MPs to be cooperative,” he stated, adding the election of the head of state is a major objective. “We must identity the candidate and then set the date of the election,” he stressed. Dumitru Diacov, the leader of the Democratic group, said the first sitting of the autumn-winter session is a holiday because all the parliamentary groups are present. “We must yet address seriously the important bills expected by the people, foreign partners and companies. We should not attack each other, but think how to elect the President as this is a priority,” he stated. The Liberal group’s leader Ion Hadarca anticipated that this session will be a really hot one. “Only together will we be able to build a prosperous state,” he said, enumerating the election of the head of state and the adoption of the budgetary-fiscal policy, the new Education Code and the new Broadcasting Code among the priorities.
