MPs from Chisinau consider it is necessary to halt the tentative of some political forces from Russia to label to the „Wine Crisis” a political subtext

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova worries about the declaration of the Russian Duma that supports hardening the sanitary control of the products imported in the Russian Federation. After several debates, MPs approved on Friday, April 21 a declaration that expresses their position towards the declaration of the Russian Duma, adopted at the middle of this week. Moldavian MPs state that the decision of the chief-doctor sanitary from the Russian Federation regarding the interdiction to import and to sell Moldavian wines and divins (cognac-like beverages) into Russia is not confirmed by convincing proofs, that would justify the assertions regarding the quality of the wine products from the Republic of Moldova. The declaration also mentions that because of these interdictions economic units from both states suffer. Moreover, the MPs from Chisinau consider it is necessary to halt the tentative of some political forces from Russia to label to the „Wine Crisis” a political subtext. The Parliament requests the Government to identify acceptable solutions for overcoming the deadlock for the benefit of the Republic of Moldova and Russian Federation. At start the PPCD and PSL deputies criticised the declaration, elaborated mostly by the members of the communist faction. The PSL MP Igor Klipii and the leader of the PPCD faction Vlad Cubreacov solicited to come back to the project of the declaration elaborated a day before. Cubreacov stated that the variant from Thursday is not acceptable, referring to the inadequate stylistic deficiencies. After more debate rounds, the speaker of the Parliament announced a pause during which the speaker met with the leaders of the factions. After almost an hour, MPs came back to the sitting. The deputy Dumitru Braghis proposed some superficial changes afterwards the declaration has been approved by all the MPs. At the sitting were not present the members of the AMN faction that announced yesterday they would boycott the sittings of the Parliament. Russia banned the wine imports from the Republic of Moldova starting with March 27. The Russian Federation Duma supported on Wednesday hardening the import terms of the Moldavian and Georgian wines and mineral water. The annalists and politicians from Chisinau qualify these actions as politic and consider it linked to the situation from the Transnistrian region.
