The Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova has six new members. The Parliament Wednesday confirmed the new members to the posts for a four-year period, Info-Prim Neo reports. The six members, who were proposed by the parliamentary commission for culture, education, youth and mass media and selected by the Broadcasting Coordination Council by contest, are: Eugeniu Rybka, Viorica Cucereanu, Raisa Lozinski-Hadei, Viorica Mesina-Prodan, Aurelia Peru-Balan and Vitalie Tapes. The new members of the Supervisory Broad include journalists, mass media experts, film directors, etc. At the start of the sitting, Communist MP Grigore Petrenko proposed not confirming the candidates to the posts as the contest organized by the Broadcasting Coordination Council is invalid. A number of MPs of the Alliance for European Integration denied yet Petrenko's statements. Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who is an MP and a member of the parliamentary commission for culture, education, youth and mass media, said the candidates were selected correctly. Grigore Petrenko retorted sharply. He told the Premier not to appear on the public channel TV Moldova 1 anymore as the people are sick of him and his provisional government. Vlad Filat replied that we all are 'provisional', but it is what remains behind us that counts. Leonid Bujor, MP of the AMN and a member of the commission, said that the restructuring of the Supervisory Board will bring the lies at Teleradio-Moldova to an end. Democrat MP Dumitru Diacov told the Communists that changes at Teleradio-Moldova are needed as the former government transformed it into a 'propaganda section”. The members of the Supervisory Board were confirmed by the vote of the Liberal-Democrat MPs. The Communist parliamentary group did not vote, except Veronica Ambramciuc, who voted for Vitalie Tapes.
