MPs come together for first sitting of spring session

Parliament on Thursday has the first sitting of the 2023 spring session. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița is expected to come to Parliament to ask for the prolongation of the state of emergency, IPN reports.

The agenda includes the bill to regulate the participation financing services, the proposal to modify the conditions for deciding and providing social assistance and cold-month allowance, amendments to the law on the units whose agricultural land remains state property and to the law on editorial activity. The joining of the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic is another item on the agenda.

The MPs will also examine legislative proposals concerning the disciplinary measures against judges and the work of the judicial inspectorate, amendments to the law on peasant farmsteads, the law on normative price and the method of selling and purchasing land and to the Penal Code of the Republic of Moldova.

The lawmakers will reexamine two bills – the bill to review the normative framework on nondiscrimination and ensuring of equality and the bill on the work of the ombudsperson – and will debate the draft decision to recall the Moldovan Parliament’s permanent representative to the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations.

The February 2 sitting starts at 10am.
