The unfavorable weather conditions have burdened road traffic in several regions of Moldova since the morning. Drivers are moving with difficulty on the M5 road, near Bravicea village of Călărași district, where a traffic lane is blocked. The movement of trucks is the most difficult. Traffic is directed by traffic police inspectors on the busiest roads, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate formulated a series of recommendations for drivers. "Equip vehicles with tires for the cold season, if this has not already been done. Use the dipped lights during the daytime as well. Reduce speed on both national and local roads. Keep a greater distance between vehicles. Signal every maneuver and pay attention to pedestrians."
The yellow advisory for a sudden change in weather is valid for Thursday and Friday. The State Weather Service announced abundant precipitation in the form of sleet and snow and high winds with a speed of up to 18 m/s.
The authorities recommend avoiding unnecessary travel amidst severe weather conditions and being cautious in high-risk areas, such as around trees, on construction sites and in other dangerous places. Parents are asked to supervise their children.
The Chisinau City Hall warns drivers not to park under trees and on arteries so as not to block traffic as well as the intervention of road cleaning crews.
