The woman who raises five children and was found guilty of murder will not serve her sentence in jail as she was placed under house arrest. The Ministry of Justice said the punitive measure was changed because this is an exceptional situation given that the woman brings up five children. Moreover, the woman’s state of health worsened suddenly and the court accepted the defense’ request to place her under house arrest, IPN reports.

The Straseni Court sentenced the 23-year-old woman to three years and eight months in jail for stabbing to death her husband when this attacked her. The woman related that she was often beaten by her husband.

The case of the mother who raises two small children and another three children who were placed under guardianship provoked reactions on social networking sites. A number of Internet users signed a petition by which they demand that the woman should not be jailed and should be allowed to care for her children.
