A coach on the Kiev-Chisinau route overturned and crashed into a tree on the R-14 highway, near the village of Ciripcau in the Floresti district. There were 68 passengers on board, and 16 of them were taken to the hospital, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate stated that the driver lost control of the steering wheel on a curve, on a snow-covered road. The 35-year-old driver was tested for alcohol, with the result being negative.

Sixteen people were taken to the district hospitals in Florești and Soroca for medical care.

The accident occurred this morning, around 5:00. The police are conducting investigations to establish all the circumstances.
