The Municipal Construction Department (DCC) tries to offer the administration responsibilities of the cultural monuments it installed in Chisinau to the Cultural Department, but these attempts were not successful. According to the head of DCC, Tudor Ganciuc, the department he runs administrates 27 monuments which he tries to pass to the Cultural Department. Meanwhile, the costs for their maintenance are taken upon by constructers. The interim head of the Cultural Department, Leonid Gorceac told Info-Prim Neo that he has nothing against the administration of monuments by his Department but the expenses are too high, including for creating a special subdivision. The solution Gorceac sees in this situation is creating a legislative framework which would name the responsible persons or authorities for the administration of Chisinau’s monuments. Until then, the employees of the department will edit the special registry of monuments, which was not renewed for 15 years.
