Monument to combatants who died in Nistru war to be erected in Balti
A monument to the combatants who were killed in the military conflict on the Nistru in the spring and summer of 1992 will be built on Mihail Sadoveanu St in the municipality of Balti. The decision was taken by the Balti Municipal Council and was approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A number of Balti residents died in the war for the country’s independence and integrity, including Valeriu Nazarco and Valeriu Macarciuc, soldiers of the motorized infantry brigade No. 1 Moldova, and Anatol Calmatui, Sergiu Ostaf, Alexandru Babinschi, Vitalie Panzari and Viorel Cantemir, employees of the police commissariat.
The costs of erecting the monument will be covered from donations and sponsorship.
