Moldova’s progress in European integration discussed with “United for Moldova” members

The progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the European integration process and the country’s development priorities were discussed in a videoconference of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and members of the “United for Moldova” network that includes MEPs and Moldovan MPs, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service,.

Premier Recean spoke about the Government’s priorities for achieving the strategic objective of becoming part of the European family until 2030. “The Cabinet focuses on the implementation of measures to revitalize and develop the economy, which are important for ensuring the citizens’ wellbeing and the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union. We invest in the development of infrastructure, continue the justice sector reform and the fight against corruption,” stated the official.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mihai Popșoi spoke about the progress made by the authorities in the process of harmonizing the national legislation with the EU standards and about the measures to counteract Russia’s disinformation and other hybrid threats.

The “United for Moldova” network consists of politics, experts and opinion leaders form EU member states and from Moldova. The platform’s mission is to facilitate the supporting and coordination of such key issues as integration into the EU, strengthening of regional and energy security of Moldova and corruption fighting. The network is managed by a Board of Directors formed of three MEPs, three MPs of EU member states and three MPs of the Republic of Moldova.
