With this chapter, Moldova has concluded the bilateral screening sessions for Cluster 6 "Foreign Relations", the foreign ministry reports.
The meeting was aimed at assessing the conformity of national legislation and policies with those of the European Union in the field of foreign, security and defense policy, IPN reports.
Representatives of national authorities presented the regulatory framework and institutional structure for 13 thematic blocks.
The MFA says that in the field of defense, the Republic of Moldova continues to contribute to the maintenance of international peace, security and stability by participating in international crisis management missions, including those of the European Union and the United Nations.
The increased contribution of the Republic of Moldova to international security is also the result of the assistance provided by the European Union through the European Instrument for Peace, with a total volume of assistance allocated so far amounting to €137 million, earmarked for providing the National Army with modern military equipment.
After the bilateral screening meeting, the European Union will process the information presented by the Republic of Moldova and will draw up an assessment report, necessary for the launch of accession negotiations on Cluster 6 "External Relations".
