Moldova's competition law analyzed in Brussels

Discussions on Moldova's competition legislation have started in the Belgian capital. The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov announced about this. The dignitary noted that it is a fundamental aspect of the European single market, which will be discussed in Brussels on January 20-22, IPN reports.

"Free competition means a strong economy, quality products and greater diversity, affordable prices for consumers, as well as a transparent, fair and attractive business environment for investors," Cristina Gherasimov emphasized in a post published on social networks.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the application of the same competition rules throughout the European Union ensures a free and competitive market, where the consumer comes first and his choice influences and shapes the market.

Alexandru Ursu, Principal Consultant at the Office for European Integration, said that the alignment with European standards on this chapter (Chapter 8, dedicated to competition policy) will facilitate the attraction of foreign investors to Moldova, encourage innovation, the creation and use of state-of-the-art technologies, and ensure a citizen-oriented market.

The Republic of Moldova officially started EU accession negotiations on June 25 last year.
