The wrestler Anastasia Nichita became the 59kg category winner at Poland Open in Warsaw, announced the Moldovan Olympic and Sports Committee.

“Another gold medal to my trophy case. Proud that I managed to cope with this international tournament, which, I would say, was more difficult than the European Championships. But the most important challenge is yet to come, the World Championships, where I hope to do as well as today. Thank you all for your support”, the athlete wrote in a Facebook post.

In 2020, another Moldovan wrestler won gold at Poland Open. In the 86kg category final, Piotr Ianulov bested Poland’s Zbigniew Baranowski.
