Foreign citizens, including citizens of the Republic of Moldova, entering the Russian Federation without a visa can remain on its territory for a maximum of 90 days within a calendar year. In this context, Russia has amended its legislation regarding the temporary stay of foreign citizens on Russian territory, reports IPN, citing a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau.
These provisions do not apply in cases governed by the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation," provisions outlined in international treaties to which Russia is a party, or situations where the period of stay is extended under the applicable legislation.
For citizens traveling with a visa, the period of stay remains determined by the validity of the visa.
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation advises citizens to comply with the new regulations regarding the duration of their stay in Russia to avoid potential sanctions.
