Moldovans settled abroad will convene in Congress
Native Moldovans settled abroad will convene in Second Congress held from October 12 to 14 in Chisinau.
According to the director general of the Bureau for Interethnic Relations, Olga Goncearova, the main goal of the congress aims at strengthening the Moldovan Diaspora on the basis of national values. The congress will also grant the possibility of broadening co-operation between fellow countrymen, preserving and endorsing the Moldovan culture, promoting Moldova’s image abroad, etc.
14 delegations confirmed their participation by now, including Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Israel, the Baltic countries.
The Second Congress includes visiting several institutions, such as educational, cultural, economic, etc. The delegates will also participate to a round table at Moldova 1 TV channel.
According to a Government press statement, PM Vasile Tarlev welcomes the II Congress of Moldovans settled abroad. Premier told a recent meeting designated to steer the Congress that Moldova fully assumes obligations to support Moldovans settled abroad, hence implementing a series of priority measures.
Mr. Tarlev also told that Moldovan diplomatic missions working abroad were delivered orders to set action plans concerning proper conditions for native Moldovans to learn their mother tongue, especially by means of providing with books and textbooks, offering prompt consular services.
