Moldovans planted trees and bushes on Saturday, April 1, on the National Day called A Tree for Our Continuity. As many as 66,500 trees and bushes will be planted in the Chisinau municipality the same day. Speaker Marian Lupu, who planted trees in the Public Garden Stefan cel Mare together with a group of lawmakers, said that planting trees is not a usual work for parliamentarians but it is good from all viewpoints. „Firstly, green areas are extended and this is good both for the present day and for a short and medium-term perspective. Also, it is a team work, a very friendly ambiance, which is also good to lawmakers because they left the walls of the parliament,” the speaker underlined. Lupu expressed hope that there will be more energy in the sitting hall of the parliament next week and assured that the legislature will take care of this park in continuation. About 100 lime trees were planted in the public garden Stefan cel Mare. Parliamentarians served hot team at the end of activities. According to the press service of the Chisinau City Hall, 43,500 trees will be planted in the Moldovan capital and the rest in suburbs. Thus, by 8,000 bushes will be planted in every district of Chisinau. At the same time, 4,800 trees will be planted in the Rascani district, by 4,000 in the districts of Botanica and Buiucani, and 3,400 in Ciocana. Overall, 66,500 trees and bushes will be planted in the Chisinau municipality. The Association for Management of Green Areas holds the tree planting actions jointly with district praetor’s offices and social-ecological directorate of the Chisinau City Hall.
