Moldovans leaving in Italy will be able to travel easier to home
Authorities of the Italian Republic allow, during July 1 – September 1, 2006, the free movement of foreign citizens who have the renewed receipt of the Italian temporary residence card is announced in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
According to the quoted source, these facilities have however several restrictions: leaving and entering the country must be performed through the same customs point; the foreign citizen will present the passport or other equivalent identity document, the receipt for presenting the request of prolonging the temporary residence card, the copy or the original of the expired temporary card or the one solicited for actualization. At the same time, the personnel responsible for border control will apply the leaving stamp both on the passport and the mentioned-above receipt.
At the same time the travel must not include passing through other Schengen member countries.
According to the sources of MFAEI, the temporary facilities on free movement of foreign citizens staying in Italy could be influenced by the period of vacations when foreign citizens working in Italy visit their families, and their travels can be performed only by airplanes.
According to unofficial sources, the new Italian government is ready to liberalize more the residence conditions for the foreign citizens working in this country.
The statistics present that over 2 million immigrants work in Italy, and are employed especially at domestic, personal assistance and seasonal works.
