About 1,000 presents were collected during this year’s edition of the Christmas Campaign “Gift Box”. The charity event is staged by the Public Association “Help” and was launched on November 1 this year, IPN reports.
Viorica Țîmbalari, founder of the Public Association “Help” and initiator of the campaign, said she gathered together a group of Moldovans who settled in Paris to help organize the charity event. “We aim to keep the children’s belief in Santa Claus and in the fact that dreams can really come true. At the moment, we gathered about 1,000 presents, but hope to make even more children happy with the assistance of everyone. Last year we collected 1,800 presents and hope to exceed this figure this year,” stated Viorica Țîmbalari.
She noted that the presents will be given to children with disabilities from placement centers and to children from socially deprived families from Cahul, Bălți, Ungheni, Cimișlia, Criuleni and other localities.
“The gifts will be distributed by the over 40 volunteers in the Republic of Moldova, who want to bring smiles and warmth into the hearts of children. Behind this nice project that aims to bring the magic of the winter holidays to each home, there are persons from eight countries, namely France, Germany, Spain, England, Italy, Luxemburg, Greece, and Moldova,” said Viorica Țîmbalari.
The Christmas Campaign is at its third edition. Those who want to bring presents are asked to contact Viorica Țîmbalari on 00 33 6 35 58 61 68 or to write a message to the email address: Timbalari11@gmail.com.
