Three Moldovans will be investigated for attempting to take Chinese cigarettes to the value of 800,000 lei out of the country, IPN reports, quoting the press service of the border police.
There are not many such cigarettes on the Moldovan market. They are mainly sold in duty-free shops. After being supplied with relevant information, special investigation officers set up an ambuscade on the road to Obileni village of Hancesti district. The pursued minibus was heading for the border with Romania. As the driver didn’t stop when he was asked to, the police offices fired several warning shots.
The three smugglers were arrested for 72 hours. They are residents of Bacioi and Lozova villages.
