Moldovans are among the unhappiest persons of the world
Moldova is ranked 147 in the top of the happiest countries of the planet. The rank, named “Happy Planet Index” analyzes the situation of 178 countries.
According to a study published this week at London by the New Economics Foundation (NEF), the happiest country of the world is Vanuatu, small archipelagos in the Pacific Ocean, followed by Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba and Honduras. At the same time, the citizens of Zimbabwe are considered the unhappiest inhabitants of the planet.
The study shows that people can be happy not necessarily due to money. An interesting fact is that G 8 countries which are considered the most economically developed countries are at the bottom of the ranking. SUA holds the 150th position in the top, France – 129th, UK -108th, Canada – 111th, Germany -81st.
At the same time Romania is not the very „happy”, being only on the 120th place.
According to the head of NEF’s Center for well-being, Nic Marks, “it is clear that no single nation listed in the Happy Planet Index got everything right”.
The Happy Planet Index combines environmental impact with well-being, life expectancy to measure the environmental efficiency with which countries provide long and happy lives.
