Moldovan-Ukrainian Crossing-Border Points Vigilantly Inspected
On 15 - 16 May 2006, a joint inspection of the crossing-border points will be organized, at the Moldovan-Ukrainian frontier „Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe” and „Pervomaisc-Kuciurgan”, of the customs services, with the participation of experts of the EU Moldovan-Ukrainian Frontier Assistance Mission.
According to the head of the press service of the Customs Service, Ion Magu, the decision was taken recently in Kiev, by the deputy head of Customs Service of Moldova, Anatolie Barbarosie, and the administration of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. At the meeting, the parts agreed to continue the work at the level of experts on defining the drafts of Inter-Department Protocols regarding the joint control at the crossing-border points. The Protocol between both services on cooperation in goods control at the frontier was also concluded.
At the same time, both parts appreciated the activity of EU Mission in frontier securing and expressed their availability to cooperate further with European experts.
The administration of the State Customs Service of Ukraine was informed about the normal external economic activity of businessmen of eastern region of the republic, as well as about their registration process at constitutional customs services of Moldova.
The Ukrainian part insisted on coming back to the topic of implementing the joint control at the crossing-border points of the Transnistrian segment, after concluding the Protocols on crossing-border points „Palanca-Maiaki-Udobnoe” and „Pervomaisc-Kuciurgan”.
