The National Army will receive training within the military exercises held by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) based on the Interoperability Platform that was launched at the NATO Summit in Wales, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Defense.
After the launch, Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco said the platform centers on education and training. “The Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun” is adjusting its programs of study, while NATO supports us in this process through the Defense Education Enhancement Program. The National Army will also benefit from training within the military exercises staged by NATO,” he stated.
The minister noted that Moldova was among the few countries that were accepted into the NATO Defense Capacity Building Initiative. “This means that the Alliance will offer us assistance in analyzing our current defense capacities and in identifying the areas that must be developed. Concrete assistance by areas will be provided after this analysis,” stated Valeriu Troenco.
In Wales, Valeriu Troenco had a series of meetings with counterparts from other states with whom he discussed possibilities of intensifying bilateral cooperation in the military sector.
