A team of Moldovan researchers have discovered a medicine from grape seeds, which may be used to treat different diseases, including cancer. The medicine is called Enoxil and has been recently registered, Info-Prim Neo reports. The scientists have established that the medicine has high anti-bacterial and anti-fungicidal activity, reads a press release issued by the Moldovan Science Academy. Tudor Lupascu, the leader of the project “New medicines from grape seeds”, has specified that the medicine represents an obvious interest, since it's being prepared from natural raw material, environmentally friendly and which, unlike other medicines, does not generate side effects. The medicine is administered to 9 patients of the Oncological Institute, after they have recently been operated on breasts. The leader of the Breast Cancer Department, Nadejda Godoroja, who is responsible for administering the medicine, has confirmed its characteristics underlining its efficiency. The medicine can be used to treat post-radiation lesions of the cancer patients and may reduce the treatment time after the surgical interventions. The tests show the medicine can also be used to treat benign tumors. This year, the medicine has been awarded several golden medals at international inventions salons in Geneva, Brussels, Seoul, Beijing and Iasi.
