Moldovan-Polish project to reduce response time in exceptional situations

A program providing for the purchase of specialized equipment needed to carry out missions to rescue people from wells and other hard-to-reach spaces was launched in Moldova. The program is a Moldovan-Polish project that comes to favor prompt action and reduce the response time in exceptional situations, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, in order to improve the quality of missions to rescue people from rivers and lakes, the Inspectorate’s subdivisions within the program will benefit from water intervention and training equipment, such as motor boats, first aid training manikins, thermal visors and also suits for divers.

The purchased goods will be used by the Inspectorate’s employees to carry out missions in the Nistru and Prut rivers.

The Moldovan-Polish project “Wisla-Nistru-Prut” was initiated by Zawichost municipality in Poland through the NGO Development Policy Foundation and is financed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
