Moldovan mission to pay official visit to Slovakia on March 22
On March 22, a mission from Moldova will pay an official visit to Slovakia. The delegation will be headed by Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, who will be accompanied by a group of Moldovan businessmen.
The visit agenda includes a Moldova-Slovakia Business Forum, attended by officials and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry from Chisinau and Bratislava, as well as by Moldovan and Slovakian businessmen.
The main goal of the forum is to establish trade and economic relations with Slovak entrepreneurs and promote local products on Slovakia’s market. The agenda of the forum will include bilateral meetings between economic entities from Moldova and Slovakia that could contribute to surveying the market, to establishing long-term economic relations between the two states and signing trade agreements.
In 2006, Moldovan goods worth about USD 22.7 mln were exported to Slovakia, while imports stood at about USD 13.3 mln. In 2005, exports made up USD 15 mln, and imports - about USD 14.9 mln.
