The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to “information circulating in the public space” about alleged attempts to organize transport for Moldovan voters to the two polling stations that will be opened in Moscow for the October 20 presidential election.
The MFA believes that the purpose of these attempts is “to undermine the legitimacy of the election”.
In this context, the MFA warned the Russian side and any other entities that “attempts to compromise the electoral process, through illegal actions at the polling stations within the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow, shall not be tolerated”.
“The competent authorities will ensure the smooth conduct of the presidential election and the constitutional referendum, in accordance with the electoral legislation, and any violations of these provisions will be sanctioned accordingly”, the MFA added.
