Moldovan experts negotiate with European Commission on facilitating visa regime for Moldovan citizens

A delegation of Moldovan experts participates at the first round of consultations on facilitation of the visa regime for the Republic of Moldova. The consultations are organized by the European Commission (EC), informs Info-Prim Neo, referring to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI). According to MFAEI, the Moldovan delegation will present in front of the EC experts the standpoint of the Republic of Moldova regarding the necessity of initiating, as soon as possible, negotiations on the agreement of visa regime facilitation for Moldovan citizens. Previously, the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Valeriu Ostalep, declared, in an interview offered to Info-Prim Neo that launching negotiations on the mentioned-above agreement is one of the priorities for 2006 and depends on several factors, especially the actions of the Republic of Moldova directed to strengthening the national migration system, security and integrated management of the eastern border, security of the traveling documents and least but not the last, necessity of regulating the migration inflow between the Republic of Moldova and the main origin, transit and illegal migration destination countries. According to the Moldovan official, a Inter-ministerial Work Group was instituted in the country which already elaborated the National Action Plan for facilitating the EU-Moldova visa regime, and on foreign level the standpoint of the Government regarding the agreement was elaborated and sent to European institutions and EU member states.
