Moldovan delegation to participate to EBRD Annual Meeting
A Moldovan delegation will participate to the EBRD annual meeting on May 20-21, in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. The delegation will be headed by Minister of Economy and Commerce Igor Dodon, EBRD Governor for Moldova.
The delegation includes Marin Molosag, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, and board representatives of a number of commercial banks such as “Banca Sociala”, “Eximbank Gruppo Veneto Banca”, “Mobiasbanca”, “Moldindconbank”, “Moldova Agroindbank” and Bruno Duthoit, “Orange” director general.
At the meeting, Minister Dodon will make a presentation of the 2006 socio-economic progress of Moldova, the process of implementing structural reforms, internal and external trade development, initiatives on economy liberalisation, and the continuation of the privatisation process.
The Minister will meet with high EBRD officials, including representatives of the departments for Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure, Transport, Agribusiness, European Neighbourhood and Partner States. The meetings will focus on the possibility of implementing new EBRD projects in Moldova in areas of infrastructure, small and middle sized business, telecommunication and informatics, health, etc.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans for 2007-2009 to implement projects in Moldova worth EUR 30 mln yearly. EBRD will mainly invest in such sectors as banking, agribusiness, telecommunications and informatics, and leasing.
