Moldovan delegation to JCC asks removing two Transnistrian customs posts

The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) demands removing the two customs posts set up near Pogrebea village and the barrage of the Dubasari power station on October 24. In a statement, the delegation says that the Transnistrian authorities illegally established two new so-called migration-border-guard-customs posts, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement says the aim of such a move is to further make the situation in the settlements of the Security Zone, especially in Dubasari district, tense. “The placement of the so-called checkpoints will make the life of the region’s population more complicated. They represent an additional impediment to the free movement of the people living on the banks of the Nistru River,” says the Moldovan delegation to the JCC. The delegation called on the representatives of the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine to immediately intervene and remedy the situation and to organize an extraordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission on the spot without delay. The Moldovan delegations says that by setting up the two posts, the Transnistrian security forces ignored the call to refrain from unilateral steps that can lead to the deterioration of the situation in the region, which was launched by the mediators representing the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine on October 20.
