Moldovan delegation came back optimistic from talks on resuming wine export to Russia

The delegation of Moldova, which has discussed the possibility to restart the export of Moldovan wines to the Russian Federation in Moscow, returns in Chisinau. While being on the train, the head of the delegation, Andrei Gurin, head of the Inspectorate for Alcoholic Production Supervision, was very optimist regarding the negotiation results with the representatives of „Rospotrebnadzor”, but he will give more details on the spot. The chairman of the Wine Exporters Union of Moldova, Gheorghe Cozub, said that for the moment he does not have too much information regarding this item, but he knows for sure that the Russian part has accepted to explore the materials presented by the Moldovan experts. The materials shall be discussed, and then the decision will be taken, not by the sanitary doctor-chief of Russia, Ghenadi Oniscenco, but at least by the deputy minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Cozub noted. According to the same source, after the first invitation made to Moldovan experts, for the first time after 27 March when the wine export was ceased, accepting the materials for a possible discussion is the second step, „giving hope” that the situation could get back to normal. Russian and Moldovan experts have discussed the possibility to restart the selling of the wine stocks in Russia, as well as de-blocking the export of Moldovan wines on Russian market for 3 days. The RM delegation insists on testing the wines and a repeated certification of the wines withdrawn from Russia, with assistance of Russian experts. In this context, Gheorghe Cozub mentioned that there were already taken additional measures for harshing the control over the wine quality on all stages, including its loading. He also underlined that in August the Russian specialists will test the laboratories of the Moldovan preventive medicine services. At the same time, the sanitary doctor-chief of Russia, Ghenadi Oniscenko, stated at a press conference that the Moldovan part fights with non-quality alcoholic production, but „for the moment, at emotional level”. „We received an emotive letter of the Moldovan Prime Minister, including nothing other than indignation and friendly words,” Oniscenko stated on Tuesday to Russian mass media. According to the same source, for this time the Moldovan part made concrete proposals, which shall be analyzed shortly, but the process is going to be a long one. Until 27 March, when the Moldovan wine export was ceased, the Russian federation benefited from 80% of the general export of wine goods of Moldova.
