Moldovan-Chinese relations discussed at Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The stimulation of the bilateral relations and identification of new opportunities of cooperation in different fields were discussed in a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Aureliu Ciocoi and China’s Ambassador in Chisinau Zhang Yinghong. The strengthening of the bilateral legal framework was another subject for discussion, IPN reports.

The interlocutors conferred on the political dialogue, underlining the necessity of maintaining high-level contacts, intensifying commercial and economic exchanges and holding the next round of talks on the Free Trade Agreement. In this connection, Aureliu Ciocoi noted that the economic and investment aspects in the bilateral dialogue will significantly contribute to improving the quality of the bilateral relationship.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European integration says the Moldovan official thanked the Chinese authorities for the technical and humanitarian aid offered to the Republic of Moldova, including for the generous assistance in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on the multilateral cooperation, within the UN elective bodies, in particular by undertaking bilateral commitments of mutual support.
