Moldovan and Romanian rescuers to assess situation on Prut from helicopter

A helicopter with the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Romania onboard landed in Cahul this morning. Together with Moldovan rescuers, the Romanian official will fly over the Prut and assess the situation in the flood-hit areas. Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo that the Romanian official Vladimir Secara together with his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Harabagiu, the head of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, and representatives of Moldova’s Water Agency will analyze the situation along the Prut, from south to north, from the Romanian helicopter. The information collected by them will be used to plan flood prevention measures and deal with the consequences of flooding. The costs for the flight are covered by Romania. A group of 42 Romanian rescuers have crossed the Moldovan border through Leuseni this morning. They came to contribute to flood clean-up. The Romanian rescuers brought ten pumps, four units of transport and a high capacity purifier that will be used to clean the water in wells.
