Moldovan and Romanian authorities to discuss draft Convention on Small Border Traffic again
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Valeriu Ostalep will pay a working visit to Bucharest on May 28 at the invitation of the Romanian authorities to hold discussions with his Romanian counterpart, the Secretary of State Raduta Matache, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.
The two officials will discuss a number of issues, including aspects of reciprocal interest at multilateral level, possibilities of strengthening the relations between the two foreign ministries, Romania’s support in promoting a new cooperation framework between Moldova and the EU, development assistance projects as well as the bilateral relations between Moldova and Romania, the communiqué says.
Ostalep and Matache will review the results of the round of talks held in Bucharest on May 14-15, 2008. At the same time, they will discuss the draft Convention on Small-Scale Border Traffic, the cancellation of visas that the Moldovans that hold Schengen visas and permits of staying in the EU need to cross Romania, and other subjects of common interest, the communiqué also says.
Valeriu Ostalep will make the visit one day after the meeting of the EU-Moldova Cooperation Council that will consider the possibility of initiating talks over a new cooperation framework between Moldova and the EU.
