Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur addressed a congratulatory message to the U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moldova and the United States, expressing his confidence that the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two states will continue to extend considerably in different areas of mutual interest, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Galbur noted that during 25 years the relations of friendship and cooperation between Moldova and the U.S. extended from the first antihuman contacts in 1992 to a stable and multidimensional partnership. The countries cooperate not only through bilateral dialogue, but also in such areas as promotion of cyber security, fight against terrorism and eradication of trafficking in human beings.

The minister underlined Moldova’s interest in promoting the bilateral strategic dialogue with the U.S., voicing hope that the anniversary year 2017 will mark a new chapter in this regard in the bilateral dialogue. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a series of events are staged in Chisinau, including exhibitions, book donations, concerts, lectures at universities, and others.
