The national Under-21 football team of Moldova was beaten by Germany 0-5 in the qualifying round of the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. The Germans scored three goals in the first half of the game, IPN reports.
Anderlecht striker Lukas Nmecha scored in the 19th and 25th minutes, with Salih Ozcan scoring the third goal in the 42nd minute. The new entrants Jonathan Burkardt and Dominik Kother also scored, taking the scoreline to 5-0.
Moldova manager Alexandru Guzun used the following players: Straistari, Chiperi, Gaiu (Borș 90+2), Furtună, Dros, Belousov (Iosipoi 26), Gulceac (Mamaliga 66), Stînă (Chelari 90+2), Revenco, Țurcan, Cojocaru (Kleshchenko 46).
“The team should be supported as they meet Belgium next Tuesday. I have nothing to reproach them for,” said Alexandru Guzun.
Moldova plays Belgium in Tiraspol on October 13. The encounter starts at 5pm.
