Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) picketed the Central Election Commission (CEC) Friday, as the road police rejected to allow a vehicle to carry an electoral billboard. According to the protesters, the police invokes the billboard's content runs counter the election law, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We find that the road police has exceeded its powers, since it was to coordinate only the shape of the billboard, not the contents,” said Leonid Bujor, who runs on the AMN's list for the parliament. “Probably they are angry that we used the red color and the text of the billboard, reading that during the years of the Communist rule, Moldova reached to be a country dominated by poverty, theft and lie,” Bujor said. He has submitted a request to the CEC urgently demanding it to cancel the illegal decision of the Chisinau road police. After lodging the appeal the protesters headed for the road police quarters to submit a request specifying the illegal actions allegedly committed by the police and asked to urgently coordinate the electoral billboard. [UPDATE] The CEC has canceled the interdiction of the police to coordinate the AMN's billboard on the ad car, the AMN has announced in a release issued an hour after its protest. “The AMN has won a victory which will remove the police's barriers put by the PCRM against the opposition. This should halt the police's rampage against the opposition orchestrated by the Communists,” reads the communique.
