The Government of Romania has formally decided to sign an agreement with Moldova to implement a technical and financial assistance program worth 100 million euros in non-reimbursable funding.
“By this Agreement, the Government of Romania intends to intensify the cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova in order to develop a bilateral strategic partnership”, Romania’s Department for Relations with Moldova (DRRM) said in a press release.
“Connecting the Republic of Moldova to the European Union through Romania, promoting the European reform process in the Republic of Moldova, supporting the European integration process and increasing Moldova’s resilience to destabilizing factors are the main objectives”, it added.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă said the agreement is in line with the effort to support Moldova’s European course.
Nicu Popescu, the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, thanked the Romanian Government.
