The Republic of Moldova will pay 54 million lei in dues to the international organizations to which it belongs. A draft law to distribute the financial resources was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.
Minister of Finance Victoria Belous said that the allocated funds were earmarked in the state budget for 2025. The membership fees, in the amount of 54 million lei, will be paid to 59 international organizations of which Moldova is a member.
"The importance of the bill lies in the need to fulfil on time the financial obligations assumed by the Republic of Moldova within international organizations, according to the signed and ratified international accession treaties," noted the official.
Among the international organizations to which the country contributes are the Council of Europe, the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, the United Nations, the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the International Labor Organization, etc.
