Moldova will hold negotiations on a memorandum of understanding on the first phase of the project “Progress in the Field of Universal Health Coverage in Moldova” with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The Cabinet approved a decision to this effect, IPN reports.

The project has two components. The first component, the universal health coverage in Moldovan, will be implemented in conjunction with the World Bank’s Health Sector Modernization Project. The second component, “Towards health equity through social responsibility”, will be implemented by the Swiss Red Cross.

The project aims to improve coordination in the distribution of health services at the local level. Special attention will be devoted to beneficiaries of health services and to civil society that will be encouraged to actively become involved in supervising the distribution of health services.
