Moldova takes over presidency of BSEC Parliamentary Assembly

Moldova has taken over from Greece the presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PA BSEC). As part of the regional forum, Moldova is to organize a series of actions the next six months, as in November Chisinau will host the 32nd plenary sitting of the organization, Info-Prim Neo reports. A release of the Parliament's press service reads speaker Marian Lupu has assured the participants that, during its presidency, Moldova will plead to intensify the Parliamentary dialog with the EU countries, with the European Parliament, and to strengthen contacts with regional partners. Moldova wants to develop a sustainable partnership based on the principles of parliamentary democracy, the respect for human rights, the promotion of economic, social and cultural cooperation of the member states of of the PA BSEC by fully using the parliamentary dimensions, specified the Moldovan Parliament's President. According to Marian Lupu, Moldova has actively participated for more than 15 years in the regional cooperation, as the cooperation within the Black Sea area further remains an important objective of Moldova's external policy. In his opinion , Moldova's involvement in the initiatives and process within the area have contributed to the country's advancement in its will to get closer to the EU, to the values, principles and standards of the European family.
