Moldova has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) expanding cooperation in strengthening the country’s healthcare system.
The document focuses on the main activities, including in the context of the system’s response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis, needed to ensure wider access to high-quality health services for both Moldovans and refugees
One of the immediate priorities is the provision of medical institutions with high-performance equipment. Among them are radiological machines, systems for laparoscopic operations, and also portable medical refrigerators for storing medicines.
According to the Moldovan Ministry of Health, IOM covers the costs of a number of medical services - oncological, dialysis and emergency - offered to refugees from Ukraine. Also, in the context of the refugee crisis, the IOM offered the public medical and sanitary institutions of the Republic of Moldova several batches of equipment and medicines, which our citizens also benefit from.
