Moldova’s borders must be those set by Stephan the Great and its name should be Great Moldova, members of Moldova’s Patriots Party said in a protest staged near the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau on January 24, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Romania should remain Valahia, Hungary should take its territories, while Bulgaria the territories called Dobruja. What remains from the country called Romania? Nothing,” said the party’s leader Mihail Garbuz.
The protesters carried a placard with the words “Long Live Moldova” in Cyrillic script. Asked why they used the Cyrillic script, Mihail Garbuz said Ruler Stephan the Great wrote in this script.
On January 24, 1859, Moldova’s Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza was proclaimed Ruler of the Romanian Country too.
