Moldova proves again that it is not a reliable partner, Transnistrian authorities say

Placing obstacles to solving the problems that can establish stability in the region, such as the movement of traffic and the observance of human rights, Moldovan has proved once again that it is an unreliable partner that questions its own capacity of carrying out talks, missing thus the opportunity of reestablishing the Moldovan-Transnistrian relations. Such a statement is contained in a commentary by the Transnistrian foreign ministry posted on the website of Olviapress Agency on June 2, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The Transnistrian ministry argues that recently, the Moldovan authorities hindered an expert from the region from taking part in a training course on the reconstruction of roads in the Transnistrian region organized by the Millennium Challenge Corporation in Washington. According to the commentary, Transnistria considered that the implementation of joint projects in this area could contribute to the settlement of social-economic problems existing between Chisinau and Tiraspol, of which the Moldovan authorities have spoken a lot recently. “On May 29, the Moldovan authorities made unprecedented efforts to hinder the Transnistrian representative from participating in the training course and the U.S. Embassy was forced to withdraw its invitation. The Moldovan authorities showed thus that they avoid implementing definite measures, including its own initiatives,” the commentary says. In the end, the Transnistrian foreign ministry expressed its hope that the United States and other partners will draw conclusions from the happenings.
