The Moldavian delegation that participated on Friday, April 21 at the ordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Commonwealth of the Independent States made a declaration referring to the problem of banning the imports and the commercialisation of alcohol products on the territory of the Russian Federation, proposing to examine this problem at the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Governments in order to identify optimal solutions for overcoming of Russia’s bans problem, is presented in press communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the quoted source, the Moldavian side considers the actions of the Russian Federation as being unfriendly and that generated losses for the wine-making enterprises, importers, exporters, farmers and in general to the national economy, also being affected the relationships between the two states. The delegation also said the declarations of the Russian Federation regarding the bad quality of the Moldavian alcohol products causes prejudices and undermines the authority of our state as a producer of high quality wines, Champaign and other alcohol products. The Russian Federation halted on March 27 the Moldavian and Georgian wine imports at the request of Rospotrebnadzor using the pretext the wines contain pesticides and harmful hard metals. Moldova exports 80% of its wine products to Russia.
