The national football team of Moldova meets Austria in the last match of the qualifying rounds of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the evening of October 9, IPN reports.

Moldova can no longer avoid the last place in the group, with two points at present. “I was satisfied with the play of my team in many matches. The result is what we miss now. We will try to win against Austria,” Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski told a news conference.

“It would be nice to end the qualifying competition with a victory at home. All the matches were difficult until now,” said halfback Artur Ionita.

The encounter between Moldova and Austria is played at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau starting at 9:45pm. The match will be directed by a team of Belgian referees led by Bart Vertenten.
