Moldova Participates Again at Joint Control Commission’s Sessions
Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (CUC) announced on Thursday, 4 May, the decision of participating again at the working sessions of the Commission. Ion Leahu, member of the delegation, announced about this.
According to him, the decision was taken after the delegation representing official authorities got certain information, according to which the Transnistrian part intends to tension the situation in Bender. Participation on Commission’s meetings, Leahu noted, would allow drafting counter-acting measures for such actions.
Ion Leahu highlighted that the decision came also after taking into account the fact that the farmers of Dorotcaia were allowed recently to work their plots situated under separatist control.
Previously, the Moldovan delegation stated that it would restart participation at CUC’s meetings only after Tiraspol evacuates militia, customs and frontier guard units near the village Dorotcaia. For two years, Transnistrian officials forbidden farmers’ access to their plots, situated on the roadway Dubasari – Tiraspol.
Moldovan delegation announced on 19 April 2005that it would not participate at CUC’s meetings. For one year, it has participated only in few meetings, discussing technical items.
