Moldova nominated for World Bank awards
The Republic of Moldova is among the 10 countries nominated for the World Bank awards given to states that achieved significant results in implementing reforms. The award ceremony will take place on April 22, Premier Vlad Filat announced on Wednesday, April 14, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the Prime Minister, this nomination is very important for the Government given that Moldova was considered by the international financial organizations a reforming country only at the start of the 1990s.
In this connection, Vlad Filat said the executive should make more determined efforts to achieve the objectives set out in its government program, including establishing effective communication links with the territorial-administrative units as not all the barriers hindering this process have been removed.
The Premier also said that 688 million lei will be provided to the poor sections of the population in state benefit this year, an increase of 36% compared with 2009. He instructed Minister of Information and Communication Technology Alexandru Oleini to look for methods of taking home the pensions of the persons experiencing locomotion problems.
