Moldova needs systemic solutions to avoid losing investors, Lupu thinks
Unless the Republic of Moldova demonstrates to all that it is a truly reliable state that can be attractive to investors, investments will stop coming to Moldova; yet economic growth can only be based on massive attraction of investment, stated acting President Marian Lupu, commenting on the recent corporate raid incidents suffered by a number of Moldovan banks, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“This issue should prompt us to formulate a set of serious amendments, some more urgent, others more prudent, in the country's legislative framework. This is not a matter of a day or two. In order to spare us the trouble of handling such cases as they happen and being uncertain about how to overcome them, we should identify systemic solutions to avoid such situations both in relation to Moldovan companies and to foreign companies. After all, in both respects the reputation of the country is at stake”, declared Marian Lupu.
Marian Lupu added that the only way to improve Moldova's reputation after these incidents is to enhance the legal framework and review the institutional framework.
