Moldova is a state of oligarchic capitalism - Anatol Taranu
Moldova is a society based on oligarchic capitalism, which has been created in the last few years by the Communists party, which affirms at the same time that it defends the rights of the working class, MP Anatol Taranu stated on Thursday, March 1, within the Parliament’s plenary session.
Taranu’s statement was triggered by the recent affirmations of the economic analyst Tatiana Lariusin, according to which, 71% of the national wealth is held by 5 major joint stock companies. These entities paid only USD 10 mln as taxes to the state budget in 2005.
The MP requested the intervention of Speaker Marian Lupu in the Standing committee for economic policy, budget and finances, or even the creation of a special committee, which would analyse the situation created in Moldova’s economy.
“We have to be aware of the kind of society we are living in, from the point of view of economic order. Either we live in a free society, based on economic competition, beneficial for all the citizens, or Moldova lies at the mercy of several families, which are controlling all the wealth and impose the rules of the game in the state. In the last case, it is clear where does the poverty and misery comes from”, Anatol Taranu concluded.
